This beaut titled ('Putin's Matryoshka') is one of the several political illustrations created by Zina Saunders.
I really admire the way she has caught the personalities of the faces with minimal and extremely fluid marks - yet still unmistakable likenesses. For me, it shows the value of caricature to accentuate and accelerate recognition. It shows that often less really can be more beautiful.
Her reportage artworks also achieve the less is more effect. The faces are often extremely finished, with background and clothing drawn as loose lines and graphic blocks of colour.
This one is my favourite:
Zina does not constrain herself to one visual style and I would recommend browsing through her impressive collection here.
